Ban Chang Bars-Offshore Bar Ban Chang

The Offshore Bar and Restaurant Ban Chang is the last bar on the Ban Chang Strip.

It is well laid out and well decorated with a wood and brass theme. The restaurant occupies around half the area and the bar area the other half.

The Offshore is a favourite with expats and golfers and is usually busier in the evenings whereas many of the other bars which tend to be busier in the daytimes.

Its more like a traditional pub than the others (with the exception of the Camel) and offers a wide range of food including the "best pizzas on the Eastern Seaboard" - their words not mine as I personally think the pizzas at the Camel are better. The menu is quite comprehensive and covers British, Scandinavian, Italian, American (burgers) and Thai food. There is even a traditional English breakfast, complete with black pudding!

Eat lunch there weekly

Am staying in Rayong for business. Myself and other American expats eat at Offshore weekly for lunch. Have a good selection. Service is okay and the food variety is very welcome since we eat Thai everyday at the plant.

I'm informed by a reliable source that the Sports Bar is only open occasionally nowadays, and then only for private parties and functions. Such a shame as at one time it was only 2nd only to the camel on the strip for a good evening out. Even if it did open again full time it will never return to its former glory, as the other bars on the strip are light years ahead of it, plus it would be waste of money as hardly anyone would turn up.

sportsbar closed. Restaurant is still open.

the offshore sports bar has now closed due to to lack of customers. the Restaurant remains open
i wonder if this is due in any small way to the customers constantly being asked by the bar girls if they want them TakeCare of them and then the bar girls wanting the customer to buy them lady drinks.
