Monkey Bar Ban Chang

Monkey bar opened in May 2011 and is one of the new bars on the other side of the road to most of the bars on the strip. It is located next door to Mam beer bar.

Sadly Monkey Bar now seems to be closed!

It is owned and managed by Cartoon who was previously a partner in Fat Bobs bar (now Blue Sky).

The bar has a small outside seating area with a small first interior room housing the bar itself. This section is fully air-conditioned and very cool. Layout is new and modern and it nice despite its small size. Behind this area is a much larger room featuring a pool table. This larger room is fan cooled and can get rather warm. We understand that there are plane to air-con this room but it will be hard due to its size plus the fact that it is "open" to the balcony upstairs.

There are currently (May 2011) no rooms available although the space is there and Cartoon says she has plans to develope these as accommodation.

Noticed on July 14 that there are "For Sale" signs on the windows, and it does not appear open.

Know the owner well from her time at Fat Bobs. However the new bar is just dead, needs to get the punters in not just sit around outside chatting.
